A Simple Recipe For Making Bread At Home

  • In a large bowl, dissolve 1 package (1/4 ounce) yeast and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar in warm water. You will have to wait until you see bubbles formed on the surface of the mixture. Next step is to mix the other 3 tablespoons of sugar you have kept, salt and 3 cups of flour together. Mix the oil with the yeast. You need to pour this into the flour mixture and beat until the mixture is smooth. Now you can add remaining flour portion by portion say, half cup at a time while stirring continuously. Do this until a soft dough is formed.
  • The above dough shall now be placed on a floured surface like a cutting board and shall knead until you get a smooth and stretchy dough. Once you feel that the dough is as described, bring this on a bowl which is greased with oil. Turn it once or twice to have the oil spreads all over the surface of the dough. Allow the dough to stay in a warm place for a while. Make sure that you cover the stuff with a clean towel.
  • Punch the dough down Next step is to cut the dough into desired shape and size. Punch down the dough on a floured surface, so that any air trapped inside will get released. Shape it and cut it in the desired size.
  • Make ready your bread tin mold, grease it. Place the cut dough inside the mold, cover and keep it in a warm place (like an oven, which is preheated) for approximately 1 hour. Now comes the baking session.
  • Keep the mold in an oven and bake until the bread is 200degF hot. Or until the loaf is golden brown. This usually takes at least 30 to 40 min.

The bread is ready and you can take it out of the oven and keep for cooling down. Enjoy the bread that you just made at your kitchen.
